Fiend.

First. Go into steam, then into 'settings' and click on 'internet' tab. Make sure that your connection type is showing in the drop down box. If it shows anything thats not your connection speed it can cause serious lag.

If thats all in order and your still getting lag try messing with cmd_update, cmd_rate, cl_latency and rate commands. Here is a website that tells you what commands to use for your connection.

If that doesnt work i have no idea.

second problem:

i aparantly have some spyware installed that i cant get rid of, i dont see anything odd in my program files and ad aware doesnt get anything, and ya i updated its definitions list. the reasont that i think i have some kind of crappy thing installed is that i get popups even with the google toolbar active, and i never got them before. and every time i search i get the first like 5 results from the same sites, even though im using google. the sites are:

http://download.websearch.com/ - 57k

www.archive.org/web/web.php - 101k - Mar 16, 2004

-lwakzghd

-logitech desktop messenger

-qttask (it shows twice, one is unchecked)

-there is a blank space that is unchecked the location is: Software\microsoft\windows\windows\currentversion\run (the command field is blank)

You can try Spybot Search and Destroy. Its a pretty good tool. Run a dsk cleanup. Run a scandisk. Defrag your system. Delete your temp internet files and history. Delete cookies. Check your Add/Remove programs list for stuff you dont recognize. Update windows. Hmm... thats about all I can think of.

-nerocheck

-nwiz

-logi_mwx

-bridge - uncheck, cause of error

-qttask - uncheck

-lwakzghd - uncheck

-logitech desktop messenger

-qttask (it shows twice, one is unchecked) - uncheck

Bridge.dll may be virus related

Go to:

www.housecall.antivirus.com

I think this is the answer:

enable pc-cillin real time scanning. Its like norton auto protect. It scans all incoming files and what not. I think the pc-cillin one even does active-x scanning and stuff. Go into the options of pc-cillin and enable it on startup or something

try this Coel:

Go into internet explorer --> tools --> Internet Options --> Advanced

Then take away the checkmark by Enable thrid-party browser extensions(requires restart).

That should get rid of any toolbars or stuff like that. Make sure you restart IE though. Dunno if it will help, but try it, and if it doesnt, then just put the checkmark back.

Do you have EAX support enabled, check your sound settings in the options section of the CS spalsh screen, your answer may lie there, also update your sound card drivers if you havent already, EAX gives you a surround sound enviroment meant to be heard with four or more speakers, if your using headphones your sound will be affected, unless you have 4 ears http://www.fnfclan.com/uploads/uploads/emoticons/default_tongue.png
