Hey Everyone,

Things have been a bit quiet around here. Thought I would make a post asking what people are up to these days. Share anything that you want to say or anything that you are currently doing!

Myself, I'm:

- in the process of buying a house.

- busy working hard to make the money for the down payment - still at Shaw Cable (almost 3 years now)

- getting outside quite a bit - just the weekend before last my wife and I went out with my parents on a weekend boat cruise. They have a 28' Bayliner and a loaner 24' Bayliner Trophy that my wife and I used. We anchored out in a little cove on one of our beautiful gulf islands(Wallace Island) out here. Was great.

- on the gaming front, I am still playing a little bit of WoW and KZ2. Also been playing a few board games: Descent. Settlers of Catan

This summer I hope to buy a house and get back to building my R/C plane. I've had the thing partially built, in storage, since I moved into my current residence after my wedding (last July).

FUN TIMES!

Ready set, post!

I'm working part time, feel I am at a crossroads, back to school in oct or full time employment. Went to Steves yesterday to play with his kiddles, well play with the 2.5 year old and hold the adorable screaming beast. I've been gardening quite a bit and just laying back, however I'm stressed when I have this much free time

miss y'all

Oi Oi! Actually quite alots gone on with me IMHO.

- Before i left the casino i got into a tiff with the assistant manager of the front desk for how she was treating me

- All part-timers (including me) got reduced to 2 shifts a week

- Left Casino Rama to join a Internship program offered by the YMCA of Muskoka and Simcoe County at CFSB Borden as a Information Technology Assistant Intern

- Still seeing my girlfriend Kat and thinking about asking her to marry me

- Newest insurance quote i got is 134/mnth rather than my old 245/mnth

- Regularly exorcising and training to become an O.P.P Officer by age 25 (submitted my application for the Auxiliary Forces 2 weeks ago)

- In November i got a puppy who is now a bigger dog and 7 months old, named Sam (Black Lab and Golden Retriever Mix)

- My car loan is up this december (a big thing for me so i can start lookin for my next car, a 2008/2009 Nissan Maxima/Altima hopefully)

- Recently got my motherboard back from Asus for doing the RMA process.

I have been off for a month so i definately know what its like to have WAY too much free time, but luckily ive some how managed to make some money and keep busy.

On the gaming front i dont have money right now to play it but i play Warhammer (WoW got repetitive and seemed to be too much grinding), and im waiting for Star Trek Online. I also am playing Bioshock, The Witcher, a tad of CS and also playing Left 4 Dead.

As for now thats about it! Good to hear

-For me the biggest thing is loving the life of daddy colo. Mya is sooooo well behaved, crying for changes and feedings only.

-We just got over a lil thrush infection and were doing awesome.

-Recently got a laptop from telus for signing up for 3 years, im actually liking it, and to those that dont like vista can eat me.. this OS is awesome and plays every game ive thrown at it (with minor tweaking for some) its not a overly powerful computer 2ghz and i think 2 gigs of ram, im finally able to properly save again for my own computer that way kels can use t his thing and marty can have his uber gamer again.

-I recently got back into star wars galaxies, more importantly into the emulator being built by the awesome guys at http://www.swgemu.com its not quite done yet but its nearing completion finally after like 4 years of work. Which is impressive seeing as they had to reverse engineer the game and apparently SOE guys are horrible with building games as they cleaned up the games code and performance shot through the roof. They also brought the game back to a previous version before a MASSIVE rebuild in the game (2 years after release at that) ruined the game for us all. These guys are bringing it back and im lovin it http://www.fnfclan.com/uploads/uploads/emoticons/default_biggrin.png

-This summer im going back out commercial fishing with my dad which is going to bring in a lot of dough for a purchase of a nice new car. Salmon fishing has followed suit with Herring fishing in that you can only catch x-amount of fish where x-amount is based how many licenses you have and how big of a return there is. The current LOW BALL return prediction has us at 5000 pieces per license and pooled amongst our 3 boats it works out to about 7-10k per man. However the return is expected by my dad to be 3-4 times that amount. so I can be looking at 21-40k just for my summer along.

-My other job with the family where we work for the fish farm company Marine Harvest/Pan Fish just had a huge breakthrough. Since x-mas we have been working without a contract with the company while my dad and the big wigs at MH/PF hammer out a new deal. A new deal has been worked out but is not yet signed as they are going to work it as a gentlemans agreement until november at which point they are goin to go over the contract top to bottom with anything either side would like altered and then sign on the dotted line. Apart of this contract means we get paid monthly instead of hourly - my company is goin to pay half on the 1st and the other half on the 15th - AND includes a bonus which is dependant SOLELY on us to keep us working well and hard. The bonus is after the years over (starting in november) they will go over our books and total up how many hours we worked. We have a yearly total of 3696 hours in the contract however we have been averaging about 6000 over the past 5 years, anyway all of the hours over the 3696 will be paid AGAIN as a bonus at the end of our fiscal year which will start in november with the new contract signing, so in other words im going to get a huge bonus in time for x-mas every year. The bonus will also be affected by how many days we were shut down for repairs when they actually had work for us. i think its 12 hours for each day in the winter and 18 hours for each summer day of shut down will be subtracted from the bonus hours so we have incentive to keep our boat in tip top shape.

-All in all I am looking at a potential 51-70k this year and am quite happy about it.

-Oh and with the big chunk of money at the end of the summer ill be looking at a new car that I may just buy on the spot depending on how much we make. I have been looking at malibu hybrids as ive always liked malibu's and like nova there im keeping the maxima in the running im not sure which yet but yeah i expect a new car pimpin the front of my house out by september!

That is all for marty for now.

Ah man im jealous, i cant wait to be a dad myself.

I run vista 64bit myself, i beta tested windows 7 which is what vista shoulda been if it hadnt been rushed out of production. But once its released im sure it will be a nice OS. I wanna buy a 90.00 machine from the base here and try to run linux, a mucking-around machine if you will.

Glad to hear someone out there is doing or will be doing (hopefully) well, lol, ive got a lil ways to go myself.

I do like the look of the new malibu's, but considering the recent issues with GM i think the only way i would buy one is a nice low price and other benefits of actually "investing" in the company again lol. Ive driven alot of cars when i worked at my valet job and i have to say though the car brands im going to be looking at aside from my fav choices are Acura, Subaru, Chev, Pontiac G8 (sick looking car), and mitzubishi. Which ever will give me the most quality with the most bang for my buck will get my business (and appeals to my visual tastes lol).

Wow, great idea for a thread there Mr Terryman. Here's what I got goin' on:

-Still living in Calgary and working at Solarbotics, doing graphic design, managing content, and a bit of marketing. We recently got back from a trade show in San Francisco, which was a pretty awesome experience.

-I just got accepted into the Alberta College of Art and Design, and start this fall. It sounds pretty intense - four year program comprised of 30hrs of classes a week plus another 15hrs of homework. I'm having a bit of an issue getting excited to go, throwing away lots of free time and my hard-earned savings. BUT, it should be a good experience. I'll probably even be talented/skilled by the time I finish!

-As for gaming, I'm still quite enjoying TF2 as my MP game of choice. I'm EAGERLY looking forward the new Batman game, CoD Modern Warfare 2, as well as Starcraft II and Half Life Episode 3 (if they ever show up). And being a total Beatles fanboi, I'm eagerly awaiting Beatles Rock Band. I'll probably get it for the Wii, it's the only console I have right now... As little as I use it.

-Annnnnnd that's about it. I guess I don't actually got that much interesting stuff going on at the moment. Anyways, it's nice to see some of you are still out there somewhere.

-Cril

Hmmm I don't think there has been much happening with me, but here goes.

I am back in Regina now, moved back out here last October, with a few roomies (living with Sadley), really cheap rent (less than what I was paying for gas commuting back and forth each month) so I can't complain there.

Bought a new SUV, just a Pontiac Torrent, but I love it, mileage in the city is awesome for what I need and it's big enough for me to be comfortable with passengers and storage http://www.fnfclan.com/uploads/uploads/emoticons/default_happy.png

Got a new job working for ISM Canada as a support analyst, contracted out to SaskPower (got me an IBM e-mail now!). Parker and I actually work for the same company now so that's kinda going back to the root of things lol.

Saving up for a house myself, but with the prices the way they are, i'm going to have to save for a bit before that happens, about 4 years or so. I really want to put a large down payment so that it doesn't cost me an arm and a leg each month. Aside from that not much has been happening.

On the gaming front, I have completely quit WoW, haven't touched the game since January, though I did get 2 80's since expansion lol. I've been getting back into CS but mainly doing D&D and Board games. Joining a CEVO team this coming season as a backup. It's amazing how much WoW can destroy all CS skills in such a short period lol. As for board games i've been playing so many it's crazy. I will list my top 5 in no particular order though:

Battlestar Galactica

Twilight Imperium 3rd Edition

Formula D

Settlers of Catan

Kingsburg

Terry, Descent is awesome. I'm playing two different campaigns with my roommates. Quach, Kingsburg is cool, I bought it a couple months ago http://www.fnfclan.com/uploads/uploads/emoticons/default_biggrin.png

Not much going on with me. I'm still working for Neo Era Media almost coming up on three years (http://www.neoseeker.com / http://www.gamegrep.com). Job is going good, it's opening up lots of game industry related experiences; contacts with people at the individual companies, things like free games. EA paid to fly me down to Redwood Shores in California to preview The Godfather II, the entire trip was all expenses paid, a huge bar tab for everyone which was about $600 per night.

Just recently got back from my trip to LA for this years E3. Photos: http://www.flickr.com/photos/miruku/sets/ since I went as press I got into all the big name briefings; MS, Nintendo, Sony, EA, etc. Got to see live Ringo Starr, Paul McCartney, Yoko Ono, Tony Hawk, James Cameron to name a few who were at E3. Got a chance to say hi and talk to CliffyB (creator of Gears of War) he's actually a really nice guy. Got to play Left 4 Dead 2. Overall is was a good experience, I highly suggest you go some year.

Gaming wise I've been playing Castle Crashers on the 360 and Killzone 2 on the PS3. I haven't been playing much L4D unfortunately. Lots of board games too. Descent being one of the favorite. I've been getting quite the addiction to using it but I'm on twitter (

) all the time. I probably use it more than I do MSN.

Great thread idea!!

As for me, working as a camp counsellor this summer at this camp located in the Rockies (right near Nordegg for those of you who know where it is). Kids aged 7-17 (in groups of 7-9, 10-12, 7-12 and 13-17). Just finished the first camp with a group of 10-12's... Rained the entire week... Slept in a teepee for the first two nights and then went on an out trip, 2km hike from camp with just my colour group and slept in a leanto and its tarp had some holes in it... The rain was definitely a problem there when it drips all over my kids sleeping bags... ended up having 3 kids fitting into 2 sleeping bags zipped together and two more into 1 sleeping bag. The only good weather we got all week was the last day and it was beautiful (hopefully more of those days to come. If you check my facebook pic's you can see some of the shenanigans we get up to.

I'm off to U of Calgary in the fall for engineering, staying in the dorms (woohoo! party time!!). Going to be some tough courses, pretty much all calculus, and one chem class along with a psych course.

Hmmm, status update....

Well, I'm getting hitched next July, started fishing earlier this year, just picked up a fly rod last month so I spend lots of time out on the river with my dogs.

I just got back into online gaming: Battlefield Bad Company, 1943, and Killzone 2. I also play Mario Kart online once in a while with my buddies from work.

Other than that, I just toil away in my mud hole every day hoping they keep finding work for me.

Oh I guess one thing did change this summer.....I started golfing......and I love it! I'm sooooo bad, but the game is so much fun.

Whacking things with metal sticks....check!

Drinking beer on every course with a chick coming around every few minutes asking if we need more beer....check!

Racing the golf carts (Notice the plural!) back to the club house with people hanging out the carts and trying to make the other group file....double check!

What's not to love!

Personal note.....must work on short game....I hate my pitching wedge.
