Colossus Posted May 13, 2005 Report Share Posted May 13, 2005 For the past few months its been out to the bar every thursday and saturday and the occassional fridays, wednesdays, and tuesdays here n there. Reason being: firstly spend time with terra. secondly drinks. cheap ones at that. Tuesdays: highballs 3 bucks. Doubles 5. Wednesdays: nothing really the wednesdays I went out was because my buddy i rarely see had those days off and came up Thursdays: 2 dollar beers, 7 dollar jugs. Fridays: Tequila, Bottles of Lucky, and something else for 4 bucks Saturdays: Bottles of Canadian 4 bucks, Vodka 4 bucks. Up until this time I have been an avid rye/whiskey drinker. I get up to quadruple rye n sevens. And love the flavor! All this cheap crap has been ruining my love for a good drink http://www.fnfclan.com/uploads/uploads/emoticons/default_mad.gif Last night I started out with a regular starter that I like to have, its called a bullseye. Not sure whats all in it but theres alize, some syrups, and a whole mixture of liquer. Anyways its a 10 dollar drink and a rather sweet drink. I drop the syrups most times because it is too sweet for me. So after that I say wow its been for ever since Ive had a good rye so I go order a double crown and seven. The drink went down fairly easy but I didnt have the usual bliss from getting rye into my system I used to get and then shortly after it was gone bewm heartburn city!! I was crying for my gaviscon in short time. stuff like this makes a marty want to cry :'( Anywho Im going back into retraining saturday night. I am buying a 40 of crown royal and 1 2ltr of seven up and if I run out of mix I drink it straight and if my body doesnt like it TOUGH! /endrant Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

Rant or not, you got a legit beef ! I dont go to the bar nearly enough to 'ruin' my drink-on but i totaly see your point.. And i think youre right - the only way to fight that heartburn is to crisp the nerves in your esophagus till they stop reporting back.. hehe : ) Im trying to keep up with my training, but i dunno.. i've kindof hit a plateau. A plateau of barf, but a plateau all the same. I think i have to start drinking mid-week if i want to get to the next level but.. i dunno if i have the stamina for it.. i need convincing.. arghh. Two worst things for chronic heartburn are : Rye and Beer. This picture is relevant to this convo in some ways - it was this same trip where i realised i'd probably never be a mid-day drinker.. or .. at least not a morning-drinker. I got the nastiest case of heartburn from this very same bottle of crown ( i did mix it with coke, im a pussy, ok, soz ) the next day. thought i'd be all hard and start the day off with a nice drink, and two hours later i was wishing i was dead. god what a bad idea when ur not used to it.. gaahh.. For all of you non-canadian or uneducated. Canada has a law that states no non-cola drinks may contain caffine. So Coca-Cola, Pepsi, no name cola's etc.. May contain caffine but all others must be caffine free. There is one exception to this and that is Barq's Rootbeer. It is not made in canada and is imported directly from the states so it bypasses that.
