10 years ago watching violent movies created violent monsters....

10 years before that it was playing with Toy guns that did it..... I'm sure 10 years from now they will have come up with another cause for the violence...

They say porn causes sex offenders, all it's ever done for me is make my wrist ache.... http://www.fnfclan.com/uploads/uploads/emoticons/default_blink.png

Parents have less time to be parents these days and I think also, kids are just more... I don't know, easily bored.

I think most of the crazy shit kids do is because they are bored and they are just trying to come up with something. While I hate to blame videogames and movies for the things that kids do, media does sometimes contribute to those sorts of things. Especially in younger children.

I remember when I was like 8 or 9 and my cousins and I saw a Superman movie and afterward, we were throwing junior sized rocking chairs around in my grandmother's backyard. It's something that came to my mind when I saw Spiderman2. We weren't stupid enough to jump off the roof thinking we could fly, but I can imagine a lot of kids stupid enough to substitute web fluid for rope or a table cloth or something.

It's a half and half thing. I mean, you could be a great parent and try to keep your kids away from all the bad stuff and teach them right and wrong, etc, but in the end, kids really do whatever they want. You all know it as much as I do, the kind of shit you can get up to at school or after school or at parties that your parents will never find out about.

For example, in Miami, we had this kid who shanked his friend in a middle school bathroom. SHANKED him. Not with a gun. But took a knife to his friend. From all appearances, the kid was normal. But they found all these pictures of dead bodies and dissected bodies on his computer after they investigated him.

So who's fault is that? The parents? The school? Counter-Strike knifeathons?

ya well i dont know how you can argue against that...

i mean who wants their child to play gta3 and doom when it comes out? that article wasnt suggesting that video game violence be censored, it was suggesting that kids access to the games be limited right? well that sounds good to me....

Mike hit it on the head, people feel better when there's SOMETHING to pin the blame on. Just wait, in a couple months some helpless little child will come on our server while we're playing tag we'll be sued because we taught someone's kid that running with knives is cool.

The restricting access to games, I think, is appropriate. I remember a couple of months ago I was in Future Shit and I saw my friend's brother (who is 8 years old) buying Vice City without an adult.

Its all in the parents hands, they have the responsibility to prevent their kids from playing these games. The lawmakers shouldnt be able to prevent me, an adult, from chopping a foul mouthed prostitute who's kicking a cop in the balls in half with a gatling gun if i feel like it. lol

there should be a rule about selling mature games to kids tho, like getting into an R rated movie, something like that, must be 18.
