Set the camera in Manual mode and set the aperture for around F4 and the shutter for upto 15 seconds, start with say 4 seconds and then increase it until you get the affect you want.

I shot around 30 Digital, most are garbage or very similar to what I posted. I also have a roll of slide file I need to get developed, that has another 12-15 shots on it. I think the slides may have some better shots as the mother had started to move by the time I changed camera's and there will be some action shots.

I was about 30 feet from the mother, and around 100 from the cubs, they were above and behind the mom. I didn't notice the cubs at first, I came out from behind some trees and saw the first one, took some shots, then I noticed movement above her and saw the cubs.... at that point I remembered the bit about mother bears and their babies and wished I was not as close as 30' LOL.

When I first moved to California I saw a TV program on bears... and decided I needed to photograph one in the wild..... and I have been into both national parks and the mountains around here many, many times over the last four years hoping to get a shot of one.... Well after thousands of miles of driving and walking the trails... I saw not one, but 3! I didn't dare get too close as it was a mother with 2 cubs and I had nowhere to hide safely if I annoyed her. A Guy we sold an S2000 to a while back had had a Civic Si, 2001 and fully kitted out before that, he even had lojack in it. Well, his SI was stolen and LoJack made the recovery swift.... 2 hours 10 minutes... great you think.... apart from the fact when they located it the car was just a shell, rear axle and rear seats, dashboard and tranny. Engine, seats, wheels, exhaust, electronis and all the other goodies stripped. The tech's in our shop would take over 6 hours to remove all that shit! Hope you can salvage it and the insurance bastids pay enough to rebuild it for ya Berz.

The only reason I could see Microshite buying Macromedia would be to make Flash go away, and allow them to push Active X into the place of it, which they tried to do and failed in the competitive market.

I've used gimp quite a bit, the results don't come close to what I can do in PS, but that may be technique rather than the program. And 3.4 billion seems a pretty nice amount, though no cash is swapping hands, it's all Stock options.

I have one of the latest viewsonic 19" LCD's. The colors on it are much better than any other LCD I have come across, and it's response time is listed at 16ms, but it certainly doesn't ghost in CS. But everyone is right, spend as much as you can on it, you'll be pleased you did,

Everyone I tell this too says I am odd... I don't remember having a single dream since I was a kid.... I know I used to as a kid but can't honestly remember having a single dream in the last 20 years. Here in California you have to pass a safety course and then you can get a handgun, there is a 10 day hold on purchases for a backgrpund check. To carry a weapon on your person you need a licence and that is hard to get without a legitaimate reason, such as working as a security guard, have a job that handles carrying a lot of cash etc... Rifles you can buy over the counter with a photo ID.
