I like reply to old outdated threads. I Had 2 video cards in my computer lifetime. Geforce2 MX400 64MB - Never had problems with it, But it was outdated when I got it. So it wasnt amazing. then I got: ATI 9800pro w/256 - It was expensive, I got it when it came out. So far I have no complaints about it, it runs everything smoothly and fine. Cept that StarWars Galaxies Game, That game doesnt run good on any system. Here's the thing about buying stuff. If you want it, and you have the Money the to buy it, then buy it. Why not? What reasoning do you need? Ya want it, then buy it.

1280-1024 OGL mode 16x anisotropic filtering 6x anti-aliasing I get a Steady 98 FPS occasionaly it drops to 70ish For some reason it wont let me run high res in Direct 3d mode and I know my video card can do it. My video card can do everything. Well almost anything, it will not run CS direct 3d past 800-600. Is this a limitation of CS? Also at 1024-768 I was getting ony 50 FPS which was odd. I'll be trying 1600-1200 Tonight, see how that works. Does CS go higher then that?

900-1000 american or Canadain? with or without monitor, speakers? My comp ran $1000 till I added video card, monitor, and speakers. now, its over 3x that. Get the Basics, then go all out on everything else.
