Guest etruscan
So, thought i'd post a little something, something without 'testicles' in the title for a change. I'd gotten curious to see what yall have been playing lately. Not necessarily since we all played CS together last, but lately. Tell me/us how the games you play have been living up to your expectations. Personally, i've got a few unfinished games 'on the go' right now. Unfortunately im in a bit of a rut with some of them, and am starting to turn into a bit of a bitch when i get right and truly stuck.. i either cheat my way out of the situation, or let the game sit for a while and then come back to it to try again. Unfortunately, some games lately dont come with cheats, so thats a bit of a pain in my arse. Heres a little list of recent games and a instant review/status of where im at with them: Fallout NV: Good way though the campaign, although things are pretty vague as to where i am in respects to the 'main' story arc. Slowed down playing it alot, as i was seriously underwhelmed by Fallout 1.5 as i think of it. So much broken shit carried over from fallout left me seriously unimpressed, but since its a good game at its core, i keep playing it. Havent touched it for weeks tho. meh. Darksiders: Seriously wicked game. Stuck at a point where i have to slay the last of these three guardians. know how to do it, just cant pull it off and its totally maddening. No cheats, no dynamic difficulty. My only option is to man up and get er done. sigh. Looking forward to finishing it though, i really really enjoy this game. Dead Rising 2: Not sure why i havent uninstalled this horrid piece of shit. Probably just because i like zombies, and the game does deliver zombies in mad droves. The game is so ridiculously broken im embarassed for it. I avoid raising the game in conversation with the friends i have at blue castle. The designers really, really dropped the ball on this one. Art is amazing tho. Dirt 2: omfg what an epic game. I love it. Ive worked my way up to racing the rally courses in cockpit view, and i swear, if i die of a heart attack in front of my PC, it will be making a hairpin w/bad camber to a dip into jump in dirt 2. SWForce Unleashed: What a turd. lol ! uninstalled within an hour or starting it. Medal of Honor/whateve the last one was called: Pretty sure i'd played that game before, but it was called 'call of duty somethingorother' .. seriously EA.. wtf. the lack of originality was actually insulting. havent even bothered with MP, which is probably the only good part of this game. COD Black Ops: Pretty mediocre SP campaign. Short, pretty bland/unimaginative. Stuck at the part where i have to swim underwater and pop out and stab these two jerks on a raft - they bust me every time. after the tenth time i just said fuck it and put it down. The game has done this to me several times. Easy as pie on medium difficulty, then you hit this completely opaque/impossible part that you have to play dozens of times, and then back to being easy. getting bored of that. That mech game from Squeenix, oh, 'front mission evolved' : this nicest thing i can say about this horrible, horrible game is that it looks like it was made by interns in 1999. seriously. the art was so bad i couldt look at it. horrible, horrible horrible. The mech action was vaguely OK, but the game in general was like being force fed pablum with a turkey baster. blegh. Create: Play this with my daughter a bit every night before bed. Although i do pretty much all the mouse/kb work and figuring out of the puzzles, my daughter loves it. It has issues, mainly around the mechanics of building objects for the contraption challenges, and the lack of variety in the animals/flowers, but otherwise its a pretty nice game to play as a family. Nail'd: Just started this one. Gotta say, its pretty fun. Arcade racing w/lots of eye candy and good controls. Play it w/a gamepad, which is the only way to play racers on pc. so far, so good, although tracks within teirs get a little repetitive. I think thats about all of 'em. All are PC / Single Player reviews, i never really play online anymore. Lets hear your comments/reviews/etc ?
General
Ok, in order, since the summer: PC: Starcraft 2 (haven't played a ladder game since like September, more of a practice partner for a couple of my Diamond ranked friends. I think my account is still in Gold) PS3: NHL 11 (team made it to 33rd overall world rank, dropped to mid-60s, then split up due to drama. Still playing alot) Played Black Ops for 2 weeks (got drunk and pissed off with the connectivity issues, traded it in for Bad Company 2) Bad Company 2 Looking at throwing a PC gaming rig together if I can build a decent one for around $800 (Haven't kept up to date on mah tech) for some SC2 ladder goodness and perhaps a new FPS. NS2 comes to mind.
VaderOnIce
In CoD don't pop out of the water. Just melee them from the water. It'll take them down real easy. I've been playing Bad Company 2 on the PC mostly. I didn't even buy CoD black ops. I just downloaded it to play the single player and proudly called my dad when I "killed" Fidel. I do some TF2 every so often and sometimes 1.6 when one of my clanmates is playing it. I OWN SC2 but I haven't played past the first couple single player maps. I also JUST got the Back to the Future game for the PC. I haven't played an "adventure" game in so long. My head's not right about how to play it, so finding stuff has been a pain in the ass. Crilix
I haven't been playing too much what with school n' all, but... Dirt 2 - THIS GAME IS LIKE CRACK. I fell in love with Grid (Codemaster's previous title), and figured I'd give this a go. While I still prefer Grid, this game sure is a blast. I only really care for the rally/trailblazing courses where it's you vs the track. But it simply the most exhilarating racing game I've played. Everything is polished and just feels tight. NFS Shift - I tried this game while looking for something to replace Grid but... No luck. It's probably the best NFS title in a while, but it just lacks that certain something. Bad Company 2 - THIS GAME IS ALSO LIKE CRACK. I think my favourite MP game since TF2 (which has gotten a bit convoluted what with so many hats and items). The destructable environments are brilliant, and I think the game has a great balance between infantry and vehicles. A few other nuggets - Assassin's Creed 2 is fantastic. Currently playing Splinter Cell Conviction, which is pretty tight. It's a shame these two use craptacular DRM, so I won't be buying them retail. Maybe I'll send a cheque right to Ubisoft... Other than that, just started a bit of Bad Company Vietnam, which is purdy. -Cril
VaderOnIce
Minecraft will fuck you up. Especially if you can play it with friends. It's addicting as hell. And it's basically playing legos with some monsters that appear from time to time. Go figure.
Coelacanth
Heya! How is everyone? http://www.fnfclan.com/uploads/uploads/emoticons/default_smile.png I dl a bunch of games from Steam over the last 2 weeks. CRAZY deals with the holiday sale! I haven't had time to play much, but I now have: -Bad Company 2 -CS Source -Crysis -DarkSiders -Dirt 2 -Dragon Age: Origins -Mass Effect 2 -TF2 -The Witcher (Some of these games are old by now) I have only had a chance to play TF2 for a bit, but, how could u ever tell if someone was cheating? They might just have a crazy item! Anyhow, I have a couple of weeks before school starts again, so atm only work and my wife are taking up my time. Hopefully I can put in some time with these new games. http://www.fnfclan.com/uploads/uploads/emoticons/default_smile.png Where do u guys play Bad company, 1.6 and TF2? VaderOnIce
I play Bad Company wherever my clan is playing. I have them all on my friends list (which is retarded because EA only allows you 20 friends. Do they think nerds are THAT antisocial?). But I don't really have any fave servers for any of that. Around what time are you on?

Coelacanth
Frank, Not sure right now. School starts on the 18th and then I have a set schedule and I can see how my schedule lines up with my wife's and figure out when I have free time. Hopefully my free time lines up with urs : )
EnglishBob
Glad to see the site still here http://www.fnfclan.com/uploads/uploads/emoticons/default_smile.png I don't play a lot of computer games anymore...but what I have played recently:- CoD: Black Ops for Wii.... Too simple and not all that challenging. Shot-Online Golf game for PC. Tiger Woods for Wii, would be better if they added hookers and a driving challenge. Spend most of my spare time playing Golf at the course.... I do have access to a lot of games though, work for RedBox now so have access to all the new releases before i distribute them.
