How can you say they're trying to milk it by making another movie? I can guarantee there won't be another movie.

SPOILER!!!!!

There won't be another movie because now there is peace. The whole point of these movies is, as morpheus always says, because they are at war. Smith is gone. There's no threat, and the Architect has agreed to let those who want to be free, be free. For every beginning, there comes an end. And that includes war. And that includes the Matrix movies. And I have no idea how the hell else to have ended that movie. At first, I felt like the ending sucked, but then, after I thought about it, there was no way out of that. I like that the machines stuck to their bargain. The architect's line was great: "What do you think I am, human?"

hold on, hold on... let me get this straight...

"As for Smith, it's obvious what's happened. He's a virus. He's like Neo, in a way. A mix of human and machine. Something that happened when Neo went into him at the end of part 1. I mean, humans can reproduce with other humans. So maybe that explains why Smith can reproduce with other agents, as freaky as that sounds. "

Are we talking about agent porn here?! what the hell? http://www.fnfclan.com/uploads/uploads/emoticons/default_tongue.png

Smith popped up at the end? Where?

And I guess it is agent porn when you think about it. It's just Smith banging people in the matrix to make more Smiths. He is the Smith Proliferator.

I saw Revolutions last night. I got a couple of things to say...

First of, the part where the machines are fighting was just amazing. It's crazy how much animation they've done and how much time and detail they must have put in it. I also liked it cause it looked the most realistic and was very fast paced.

Second, the fighting (hand combat and gun fights) were very well done in Revolutions. The end fight with Agent Smith was very powerful and cool.

And lastly, this movie was really entertaining, fun, and cool. However, not all plot holes were plugged, and I still don't get some of the parts of this trilogy.

Overall, I would give it 9.5/10. Now, if you haven't seen it, GO SEE IT. http://www.fnfclan.com/uploads/uploads/emoticons/default_biggrin.png

Guest Canuck.

They are not making another movie.. The Wachowski brothers (writers and directors) have said that there will not be anymore, Laurence Fishburne(morpheus) said on Conan(best show ever btw) that there will not be anymore movies and the cast would not agree to anymore even if the "brothers" made one.

Fire, From what i understand, if you watch all the "animatrix" it clears up some foggy issues you might have with the plot. There is a lot of ideas in this movie that just couldnt be fit in.

Like every1 else.. i am confused.

My buddy box noticed that they were hinting at the end that is just how the architect explained at the end of reloaded. hinting at the cycle of the ONE and how there has been many more.

Anyways... i'm confused and must sleep it off..

peace

IMO, the only part of the movie worth watching was the character development/interaction between Captain Mifune and that punk kid who's always sucking up to Neo. And following that, the defense of the dock. Granted the numbers of Sentinels were a tad excessive (there were more than "250,000, one for ever man woman and child in Zion"), I'd guess they showed about a million if you look at the scenes altogether), but those Armored Personal Units were quite fun to watch.

The final fight was utterly stupid, imo, and the solution to the movie left 90% of the people who watched it asking 'uhh wut just happened'...

I think that the biggest problem with the movie was they were trying to please too many people. They made the mistake of trying to satisfy hollywood with excessive special effects while at the same time trying to bring forth a unique story that at some times utilized utterly esoteric story twists and conclude the story in a "realistic" fashion (don't even start pointing out how the movie is not realistic, I simply mean in terms of the rest of the story and the situation where such a reality were true).

As I left, I had the sour taste in my mouth of disappointment.

The first movie brought us unique characters in a mind-blowing scenario, incredible.

The second movie saw us develop a somewhat-interesting plot, and showed us these same characters utilizing their abilities in exciting ways.

The third movie was a rush to conclude the story that had wandered off the path due to hollywood's need for special effects, a 15 minute love scene/some quasi race-wide orgy (Reloaded) and unnecessarily long fight-scenes. I think the movie broke away from what made it wonderful, overcomplicated the plot (to the confusion of most) and ran itself into the ground.

but hey, everone's a critic.

The thing that ticked me off the most about the movie was the ending. But then I thought, how the hell else could it be ended? I mean, how would you guys end it? How else could a movie with a Christ character end?

I liked the last fight scene, except like Jude said, it left me going huh?! at the result. I mean, sure, I can surmise all I want about what happened, but I don't have any kind of solid legit answer. The only thing I can think of is that Smith only came back because of Neo. He changed when Neo went through him, which means Neo left a part of him in Smith. So when Neo was gone, the most important part of the new Smith, the human part (the crazy vengeful part), I guess you could say, was gone and so was Smith. The movie plays a lot with duality. Lot of light and dark, ones and twos, that sort of thing. Without Neo to rail against, Smith had nothing.

And Prophecy, where the hell did Smith pop up at the end?

Okay, I've been avoiding this thread until I've seen the movie, and now that I have, I get to post http://www.fnfclan.com/uploads/uploads/emoticons/default_happy.png

Okay, first off, why did people not like this movie? Personally, I think it's because they're all trying to compare it to the first and second ones. The thing is, they're almost like two completely seperate styles of movies, but with the same story and cast. In the first two (The Matrix, and Matrix Reloaded) 90% of the time you see the main cast/characters they're in their leather coats, wearing shades, with slick hair (Lol, not in the case of Morpheus), etc. The majority of the environment takes place in large clean buildings, involving gunfights and hand-to-hand combat resulting in little or no blood/gore. Matrix Revolutions, was totally differant. Whereas the other two were trying to focus on the fight scenes, this one focused on the Sci-Fi part. It was way more 'gritty' and kind of 'non-refined' combat scenes. This was -quite- the contrast. Overall, I think Reloaded and Revolutions are great additions to the Matrix world, but they're just differant, that's why some don't like them.

Next, will there be a sequel? There is a possibility. I think if the brothers wanted to, they could. You'd have to consider that this would take place after the "Peace", and so they wouldn't need to have any of the origional cast (Mind you, most of the origional cast have been "killed" in the movies. The only person left from the origional is Morpheus). The Acrchitect and Oracle could be 're-programmed' or something like that if needs be. Although, I -honestly- hope they don't make a sequel. Although they've done pretty well as is, you can only expand on one story so much before it turns into garbage *Cough*StarWars*Cough*.

As for the ending, I'm with 99% of the people who've seen it in saying "HuH?!". However, my brother did share his explination with me. We figured that in the end, Smith had "Assimilated" (If you will) the Oracle, so now the only other source of opposition is Neo. Remember when he (Neo) was talking to the Oracle, and she explained how the Architects job was to balance the equation, and hers was to keep it unbalanced? When Smith got Neo, the equation was -totally- thrown off balance, and as there was no source of opposition, it could never be fixed. Then what followed, I'm not to sure about, but the matrix was "Altered". Remember way back, in the first movie after seeing the Oracle Neo saw that black cat, in 'Deja Vu'? This happened again, if you remember. The little girl was there, and the same black cat walked by twice. Something was edited in the matrix, probably the final arradication of Miseur Smith. I'm not sure, but that's my thought. Apparently there is an official Matrix RPG being developed that will (hopefully) explain some of this.

Overall: I liked it. I'm with the other in the 9.5/10.
