U.S. Soldier Survives Taliban Machine Gun Fire During Firefight

The guy is a complete noob, and his entire team bated him.

 

He's going down a hill with no cover, going towards the enemy. He's getting shot at and what does he do? gets in closer range wise. His gun gets shot and he drops it, then kind of takes his time. Calling for help? yea, your buddies are probably way up the hill to begin with and wont be running down without cover to get you. I didn't even hear shots or anyone reply to him so I'm guessing they couldn't hear him or were taking fire themselves and were behind cover.

 

Just seems like a real lack of basic training and new guys are being pumped out through the machine and just pretty much instantly put into action. Sad times.

I think you'll find that actual combat rarely proceeds according to expectations or even common sense. It's a lot of walking around in the open waiting to get shot at. The distances and weapons used make it unlikey you're going to get hit with a single shot....but yeah, poor tactical sense displayed.
